Art director Antonio Alcal designed the stamp using a photograph by Doug Haight.

| The stamp features a detail from a photograph of the billowing Stars and Stripes.
A traditional take on an old favorite, the new U.S. Flag stamp adds a touch of majesty and patriotic grace to First-Class Mail correspondence.
The words “USA” and “FOREVER” are printed on the bottom of the design. Terrence W. McCaffrey was the art director of the project and Greg Breeding of Charlottesville, VA, designed the stamp with an existing photograph of the flag taken by Tom Grill of New York City.

 | The California dogface graces the seventh non-machineable butterfly stamp for use on irregularly sized envelopes, such as square greeting cards, invitations, or announcements.
The stamp art was digitally created using images of preserved butterflies as a starting point.
The result is a highly stylized, simplified image of a California dogface (Zerene eurydice) rather than an exact replica.
Nationally known artist Tom Engeman created the stamp art. Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamp.

| With the 2024 U.S. Flag stamp, the U.S. Postal Service honors an important symbol of our nation.
The stamp, which is being issued in booklets of 20, panes of 20, and coils of 100, 3,000, and 10,000, bears a straightforwardgraphic design of the red, white, and blue. Providing a solid foundation for the flag are the word FREEDOM in a gray slab sans seriffont and, below it, FOREVER/ USA in a smaller sans serif font. The manner in which the text is positioned suggests the enduranceof freedom as a core value.
